Date: 9 March 1997, Local Time: 5:20 am. This photo was taken using a SLR camera with a 200mm lens at f5.6 on Fuji 800 Super G+ film. The exposure time was 2 minutes. The camera was mounted on a hinged tracking device to follow the motion of the stars and comet across the sky.

Date: 9 March 1997, Local Time: 5:25 am. This photo was taken on the same night as the above photo, but with a wider angle lens. Details: 100mm lens at f4.5 on Fuji 800 Super G+ film. Exposure time of 4 minutes.

Date: 10 March 1997, Local Time: 5:20 am. Details: 200mm lens at f5.6 on Fuji 800 Super G+ film. Exposure time of 2 minutes.

Date: 11 March 1997, Local Time: 5:11 am. This photo was taken one day after the previous photo. Notice how the comet has moved relative to the stars (compared to its position on the night before, it has moved down about 1/3 of a frame, and slightly to the right). Details: 200mm lens at f5.6 on Fuji 800 Super G+ film. Exposure time of 2 minutes.
