Explanatory readme file for Tables A1, A2 and A3 of "Low-mass stars, brown dwarf candidates and the mass function of the young open cluster NGC 2547" by R.D. Jeffries et al. (ME219) Table A1 - full photometric and astrometric catalogue from the full survey area. Table A2 - a subset consisting of those objects selected as candidate members based on the Baraffe et al. (2002) isochrone. Table A3 - as Table 2, but using a D'Antona & Mazzitelli (1997) isochrone. Each Table has similar columns. Column 1 - the "field" that the object was found in (note that objects may appear in more than one field in which case the numerically smaller value is used). Column 2 - an identifying star number within that field. Note that column 1 + column 2 can be used as a unique identifier in the catalogues Columns 3,4,5 - the J2000.0 Right Ascension in hours, minutes, seconds Columns 6,7,8 - the J2000.0 Declination in degrees, minutes, seconds Columns 9,10 - the x,y positions (in pixels) of the stars in the first frame of the field in which it is placed. Columns 11,12,13 - Cousins I mag, uncertainty and flag (see below) Columns 14,15,16 - Cousins R-I, uncertainty and flag Columns 17,18,19 - I-Z, uncertainty and flag The alphabetic flags correspond to the first and second measurements that go into deriving the magnitude. i.e. the first and second letters in the I mag flag correspond to the R and I measurements, the first and second letters in the R-I flag correspond to the R and I measurements, the first and second letter in the I-Z flag correspond to the I and Z measurements.
