Electron pressure in WD stars (qualitative)

• N/V is very high in the centre of stars, so for electrons the Fermi energy and Fermi temperature are high

• Even at high temperatures T << Fermi temperature, and degenerate conditions exist

• In the case of WD stars, degenerate conditions exist through most of the star
