Introduction

These pages include some movies from my simulations of extrasolar planets (in this case a subset termed hot Jupiters which are Jovian in size and very close, <0.1 AU to their parent stars) using the Met Office Global Circulation Model (GCM) termed the Unified Model (UM). The movies depict a simulation using Newtonian cooling, or forcing to a prescribed temperature profile for a 'Full' (i.e. the full unsimplified equations of motion are used) simulation run over ~5000 Earth days. The models are described in Mayne et al (2013) and Mayne et al (in prep).

The first set are direct output from the model.
The second set a graphic interpretation created by David Storr, under consulation with myself and David Sing, and are available graphic.
