Matthew Bate's Research

I am a theorist whose main research interests are in the field of astrophysical dynamics, particularly astrophysical fluid dynamics. My major focus is on the fields of star formation, planet formation and protoplanetary discs, and numerical methods. For my Ph.D. thesis, I studied the effects of the accretion of gas during binary star formation.
